Yahad - In Unum
Yahad - In Unum was founded in 2004. The name combines the Hebrew word – “Yahad”, meaning “together,” with the Latin phrase “In Unum”, meaning “in one”. The organization seeks to uncover the lesser-known chapter of history that has remained silent for far too long.
We seek out non-Jewish eyewitnesses to the shootings of Jews and Roma people in the former occupied territories of the Soviet Union by German units and their auxiliaries. Our mission is identifying each killing site and mass grave and record first-person accounts of the murder of Eastern European Jewry.
Finding and interviewing the last witnesses is a race against time.
For future generations, our collection of evidence will serve as an educational tool to fight against denialism and anti-Semitism.
By learning from the past and educating in the present we can have an impact on younger generation to make “never again” a reality.
